If you’ve never experienced traveling on Amtrak with your bike, make a plan to do so. I rolled my bike aboard the Pacific Surfliner last December to start a bike tour from San Luis Obispo CA. Amtrak offers a separate car for bicycles, usually at the end of the train. It was super easy to roll on and off, and the ride itself was really enjoyable.
However, Amtrak needs our support to continue to offer this service for more regions. As you may know, President Biden is pushing for major infrastructure funding, including badly needed money for Amtrak. If you cycle and travel, show your support by reaching out to congress and letting them know you’re behind the legislation.
