Los Angeles Bike Lane Improvements 2020

In 2020, Avalon Boulevard in South Los Angeles received the lion’s share of bike lane investment: 12.7 miles, including 6.4 miles of lane safety improvements such as concrete pedestrian islands protecting bike lanes, signage, and reconfigured striping.

San Luis Obispo to Santa Barbara

My next cycling adventure will occur Dec 4-6 2020 when I ride from San Luis Obispo to Santa Barbara CA over the weekend. The cool part is I will utilize Amtrak Pacific Surfliner’s bicycle-friendly carry-on service from LA Union Station to SLO. At the end of my ride I’ll hop the Surflliner back to Union Station. I don’t have to box up my bike — just wheel it on and off. Also, I will be utilizing a premium feature on my route planner app RideWithGPS (ridewithgps.com) that will allow friends and family to follow along. Stay tuned for more information.

Bike Travel Weekend

Bike Travel Weekend and Bike Your Park Day is nearly here! I’m going to ride from Santa Barbara to Palos Verdes CA September 26-27 with an overnight in Port Hueneme. So excited! I’ve been dreaming about this for a year. COVID has made me make this a solo event, but I’m sure I will meet many cyclists on one of the most beautiful stretches of road in the US. Stay tuned for pictures and video!
